Emerald Night Class A3-B Collection

This is the Locomotive section of the Emerald Night Class A3-B collection by KernowBrix. It’s the next step on again in the evolution of steam engines. The wheel setup is the same as the A2 and A3-A standing at 4-6-2. It is designed to be tender powered and has been built with lights in mind. It can be powered by the older 9v train motor, power functions motor or the new powered up motor. The instructions show for the powered up motor but it is easy enough to modify for the other motors and controls and has been designed with this in mind. The train has a fire door that can be opened and the flames altered to run a cable for lights from the powerpack in the tender or you can rig your own lights or buy our KernowBrix Lighting Solutions which does not require a cable from the tender and has its own battery.Also the boiler section of the Locomotive can be modified to carry another battery box and power the forward facing lights and fire in fire box. Or you can fit KernowBrix Lighting Solutions or your own lighting solution, there is plenty of space for it.
Inspiration for this build was taken from the SR Merchant Navy Class Stream Lined version and the Battle of Britain Class There is also the A3-A which is a non-stream lined version taking its design influence from the Merchant Navy Class non-streamlined version.
